Living at Our Ranch
Our ranch is nestled on the outskirts of Ryegate, Montana. While we're on the road learning with others a large majority of our time, our hearts have always been in cattle country. Recently, Curt and I have been renovating our newest place....
Meet My Family!
My husband, Curt
Curt and I have been married for 29 years. We started out as a couple of ranch kids that were in love with the culture and lifestyle of the west. Our passion has always been in sharing our rich ranching experiences with others. Curt travels internationally conducting Effective Stockmanship & Cattle Handling demonstrations and promoting sustainable ranching practices.

Rial, my son...
Free spirit and big heart
Rial has always been an adventurer. His inquisitive and curious mind have shown him a variety of opportunities in life. He is always open to new experiences, from riding fox hunting horses to bucking horses, from raising sheep to cattle. He is a true renaissance man.
Rial will be joining me in conducting Horsemanship Clinics in 2017, and I can't wait for you all to get to know him better.
Mesa, my daughter...
Pure love and strength
Mesa is the most amazing young woman I know - not because she is my daughter - but because of her strength, confidence, compassion and humility. Mesa raises, trains, and manages bucking bull stock and ranch horses.
Mesa will be joining me in conducting a Ranch Roping Clinic in 2017.
Taco, the cow dog...
We have had Hanging Tree Cowdogs for the last 20 years! We got our start with Lasso & Roper, raised by our good friend Charlie Trayer.
Taco is the kind of dog that helps us work cattle in an effective manner, the way we like to work them.
Huckleberry, the cow dog...
Huckleberry, or "Huck," is 17 years old this year. She was born in our semi at one of Curt's Horsemanship Clinics in Washington. A pup among a litter of 12, she's probably traveled more miles than most people. She's worked cattle her whole life and is enjoying retirement on the front porch at home in Ryegate.
& I can't leave out
our bucking family...
We've been involved in the Bucking Bull business with Mesa the past eight years. I enjoy helping Mesa raising future superstars! I enjoy the bulls, but it is the bucking bred cows that have captured my heart. They have Spirit!
My gorgeous AQHA gelding Smoke is proof that when you put your desires out to the universe and believe that things happen when and how they are supposed to, you will recieve. For the last year and a half I knew I wanted a horse that I could conduct clinics on that would be safe. A horse that I could improve my horsemanship on and show...I have had the dream to show in Ranch Horse Versatility! My family thought I should start a colt, but I wanted an older horse that I could trust so I could focus my attention on my clinic participants...so I waited. I knew if I were patient he would find me. And he did, through my dear friend Cheri Trousil. The moment I rode him I fell in love. He has his little quirks, but I feel like I get him. I didn't know if he would be my next horse, but Cheri knew. I am so grateful that my friend has shared Smoke with me. I am excited to improve my horsemanship, push my comfort zone and have fun showing Smoke!
